Yuko Miyake "Colors in Nature"

"I like to create colorful illustrations without specifying medium such as watercolors, colored pencils, inks, acrylics and vitrail."

We are pleased to announce the newest exhibition to be held at Ki Niseko this winter will be a solo presentation titled "Colors in Nature" by local artist Yuko Miyake.

Title: Colors in Nature

Exhibition Period: 4 December, 2020 - May, 2021

Location: Ki Gallery in front of Ki Gift Shop (1st Floor)

Admission: Free

Yuko's artwork has been featured in every Japanese edition of the Experience Niseko magazine, which has been published since 2017. Her artwork exquisitely expresses nature in Niseko. Her exhibition is a digital collage of individual artworks, which is like a long picture scroll, showing a mixture of nature in Niseko throughout the 4 distinct seasons.

Focusing on the "color" created by the natural world, vegetables and plants are expressed in pale and soft watercolors, and wild birds are illustrated with colored pencils to add texture to the feathers. Each individual piece created by Yuko feels as if it is alive.

Illustrations below are from the following editions of Experience Niseko Magazine:

2018 Plant illumination from "Colors of Niseko's Mountain"

2019 Vegetable illustration from "Veggie Paradise"

2020 Wild bird illustration from "Wild Birdlife"
