Buses depart approximately every hour from the airport to Hirafu Welcome Center in the heart of Hirafu-Niseko Village. Journey usually takes about 3 hours, and most include a rest stop halfway. There are also buses departing from Sapporo City to Hirafu Welcome Center, in case Niseko isn't the first destination on your trip.

Jr Hokkaido Train

The train journey is scenic; passing by the ocean and deep through the snow-bound countryside. For those who do not mind taking their time, the train may add to your Niseko experience. The train terminal is on the basement level of domestic terminal at New Chitose Airport. There is no direct train from New Chitose Airport to Kutchan (the closest station to Hirafu-Niseko) so you need to change either at Sapporo or Otaru. Once you get to Kutchan, it will take a 15 minute taxi ride to Ki Niseko. For more information and the latest timetables and fares, please visit Hokkaido Railways website or Hyperdia.

Rental Car

Renting a vehicle is a great way to get to Niseko in Summer. As Hokkaido's roads are well maintained and for the most part uncrowded, renting a vehicle is a perfect option for anyone who wants more freedom. Ki Niseko can arrange for a vehicle to be picked up from the airport, from Sapporo or Ki Niseko. A Japanese driver's license or international driver's permit is required for all car rental bookings. Due to extreme winter road conditions, we do not recommend driving in winter for those who have no experience driving in extreme winter conditions.
